Webhook

We send a JSON POST for every published incident update. Each request carries an X-Statuspage-Signature header holding an HMAC-SHA256 of the body.

Webhook endpoints are not self-service. A request is reviewed manually, and nothing is sent to the endpoint until it is approved — not even a verification request. Once approved, we POST {"event":"subscription.challenge","challenge":"<token>"}; the endpoint must answer 200 echoing that token, as plain text or as {"challenge":"<token>"}. Deliveries begin after that.
